Child ringing bell at kettle

The Salvation Army partners with Walmart for annual Jingle in July kettle fundraiser

Salvation Army bell ringers will be outside Walmart stores every Friday and Saturday in July.

Salvation Army staff and volunteers will ring the bell outside Walmart stores in Alaska every Friday and Saturday afternoon throughout the month of July as a part of its annual Jingle in July fundraiser. Bellringers will wear appropriate personal protective equipment and abide by local health and safety mandates.

“We are grateful to Walmart for another opportunity to fundraise to continue ‘Doing the Most Good’ in Alaska,” Alaska Divisional Commander Major John Brackenbury said. “Alaska’s annual Jingle in July efforts help our Corps Community Centers continue to provide to families in need whether it is providing meals to the homeless, setting up a kids’ Christmas gift distribution or providing emotional and spiritual support to those in need. Every dollar donated helps The Salvation Army continue providing services to Alaskans in the most need.”

Funds collected at the kettles support Salvation Army programs and services in local communities. Last year, The Salvation Army in Alaska helped over 55,000 individuals with food support, emergency shelter, kids Christmas gifts, clothing, childcare and more. Located in 19 communities throughout Alaska, The Salvation Army continues to provide for those in the most need in Alaska as it has since 1898.

“We’re proud to work with The Salvation Army once again this year as they raise money for our friends and neighbors in need,” said Brad Spitz, Walmart Market Manager for Alaska. “At Walmart, we know the importance of collaborating with organizations that are making a difference, and our community needs more support than ever. We appreciate The Salvation Army and everything they do for individuals and families in Alaska.”
