Temblors rock youth across territory
Youth Congress Programs, Schedules Set
As the YouthQuake 6.02 Youth Congress swiftly approaches, program and schedule details have been announced sending rumbles of excitement among the territory’s youth.
“The word is starting to spread and our young people’s enthusiasm and excitement about YouthQuake 6.02 is heating up,” said Major Steve Bradley, Congress coordinator. “We’d like to see as many youth as possible participate in what we believe is going to be a landmark event. We’re trusting that God’s Spirit, our spiritual epicenter and source of power, is going to accomplish some miraculous things among us, so we need to be preparing ourselves for the spiritual temblors he’s planning for this Congress.”
Prospective delegates must register with their corps officers by the February 15 deadline to save $10 for the June 14-16 congress events. Hotel accommodations are to be made separately (see box below). New program and schedule information has also been announced.
The Saturday evening program of YouthQuake 6.02 will be spectacular! In fact, it will be Youth Spectacular! It should be one of the “don’t miss” highlights of the weekend. The later meeting will be held in the Terrace Theater at the Long Beach Convention Center.
For children ages 7-13, a KidsQuake Western Territorial Round-Up is being offered. KidsQuake programs will operate simultaneously with the YouthQuake 6.02 schedule.
According to Major Millie Bearchell, YouthQuake 6.02 childcare coordinator, among the activities planned for KidsQuake are: a production and performance of Seuss on the Loose under the direction of the production company “WetClay”; and a Sunday performance by Heroes Playhouse, a professional group of puppeteers featuring elaborate sets and designs.
Childcare will also be provided during regularly scheduled Congress meetings for children six weeks to 6 years of age. Both childcare and KidsQuake children must be pre-registered for the Congress.
On Monday, June 17, childcare and KidsQuake will be provided for officers’ children only during the Territorial Officers’ Councils with General John Gowans. KidsQuake delegates will be taking a trip to the Long Beach Aquarium.
