Stricklands Promoted to Lt. Colonel

Majors Charles and April Strickland
The Territorial Commander is pleased to report the promotion of Majors Charles and April Strickland, Del Oro Divisional Commander and Director of Women’s Organizations, respectively, to the rank of Lt. Colonel, effective April 1.

Lt. Colonel Charles Strickland was born in New Bern, N.C., and Lt. Colonel April Strickland was born in Clarksburg, West Va. They were married in 1961 and commissioned with the 1965 Proclaimers of the Faith session.

In addition to several appointments in the ARC Command and in divisional appointments, they served four years in Hong Kong and two years in the Australia Eastern Territory.

Strickland holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University at Long Beach, and his wife holds an R.N. degree in Nursing from Cypress College and a Certificate in Counseling Skills from University of California, Riverside.

Before their present assignment as leaders of the Del Oro Division, they were administrators at the Oakland ARC. The couple has three children: Craig, Cadet Linnea-Lynne Desplanke and Derek.
