The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Salem, Ore., will hold its third annual Kroc Health Fair Jan. 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The public can visit over 30 vendors on a variety of health-related topics, receive free health screenings and flu shots, and sample healthy foods. Fair participation includes free same-day access to the rest of the Salem Kroc Center’s facility.

Admission to the health fair is free and includes food samples and prize drawings.

“This event is a great way to learn about different resources available for a variety of wellness needs and to try out the Kroc Center at the same time,” said Kendall Reid, director of operations at the center.

Many people are working to maintain the resolutions they set at the first of the year. The Kroc Health Fair aims to provide a hands-on opportunity and the resources to achieve health and wellness goals. It also allows local businesses and organizations the chance to let the community know about their services.

The money raised through booth registration fees goes to support the Kroc Center scholarship program.

“We are excited to partner with some great organizations to provide free services, like Walgreens for free flu shots, Salem Health for blood pressure checks and Miracle Ear Hearing for hearing tests,” Reid said.

Fair attendees receive a passport that booth vendors will stamp and the individual/family can then use to enter the Kroc facility and sign up for swim times.

On this day, the $75 registration fee will be waived for people signing up for a membership at the Kroc Center.

The Kroc Center is located at 1865 Bill Frey Drive NE in Salem. For more information visit salvationarmysalem.org or call 503-566-5762.
