New Frontier,
the West’s territorial newspaper, received an award of merit in the Awards of Excellence newspaper category during the Evangelical Press Association’s (EPA) recent convention, held in Chicago, Ill.

“I’m pleased and honored for this recognition by significant publishers of Christian periodicals,” said New Frontier Editor Robert Docter.

More than 300 attended the annual event, which marked the EPA’s 50th year of commitment to “communicating the good news of the gospel, in word and image, in magazines and newsletters, in the church and American society.” Publications represented included: Christianity Today, Discipleship Journal, Christian History, Trans World Radio, World Vision Magazine, Decision, New Man, and a host of other periodicals.

Film critic Michael Medved, Dean of Robertson School of Government at Regent University, Kay Cole James, Moody Bible Institute President Joseph Stillwell and evangelist and author Ravi Zacharius were guest speakers.

Managing Editor Sue Schumann Warner represented the West at the convention.
