Santa Ana Corps hosts seminar for couples.

A couple prays together during the recent seminar hosted by Santa Ana Corps.

In Feb., the Santa Ana (Calif.) Corps hosted a two-day couples’ conference, directed by family counselor Pastor Pablo Prezioso and his wife, Elena, with roughly 132 participants from the San Fernando Valley Corps, San Pedro Corps, Los Angeles Corps, and the surrounding community.

The seminar—“Let’s do something together”—aimed to help couples function well as a family and provided skills for spiritual growth and strengthening relationships. It was not only for married couples; those who are engaged or dating also attended to learn more about healthy marital relationships.

Event coordinators Corps Officer Captain Patricia Girón and Soldier Belsy Martinez stated: “This was an excellent tool to strengthen the communication between husbands and wives. It was a blessing for every person that came through that door.”

“We could see how couples were being restored and touched by God,” said Julio Morales. “Some would grab their hands tight and cry, others would go to the front of the stage and declare their love for their partner.”

The topics covered included: The couple—being different from each other but being one at the same time; Our home—walking towards the blessings of God; and Sex and love. Speakers focused on Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up.”

“Every couple needs to keep that love burning in their marriage and what better chance to do it than through Jesus Christ,” said attendees Javier and Irene Castro. “We truly believe that God spoke to us this weekend and helped us take the next step as believers in our spiritual life.”
