Jr. Soldiers Recognized For High Achievement

The Territorial Youth Department is pleased to announce that 43 corps received Junior Soldier Standard of Achievement Awards for 1997.

The Junior Soldier Standard of Achievement is a recognition program designed to acknowledge Junior soldier brigades that are active and goal-oriented in the corps. The program enables corps officers to monitor the health and activity of the Junior soldier brigades, encourage the use of the training and preparation material, and attempt to unify the program in the Western territory.

There are three separate levels of achievement. Each level is represented by a different color award: Level 1–yellow; Level 2–red; Level 3–blue. Level 3 requires the most activities to be completed. Corps with an active Junior soldier program now will have an active Senior program in the years ahead. The awards received in each division are as follows:

Alaska: Anchorage New Hope, An-goon, Haines and Kenai Peninsula, yellow; Mat-Su Valley, blue; South Anchorage, red.

Cascade: North Coast, yellow; Newport, red; Klamath Falls, McMinn-ville, and Portland Tabernacle, blue.

Del Oro: Chico and Napa, yellow.

Golden State: Redwood City, Santa Cruz, and Watsonville, yellow; Bakers-field Temple, red; Monterey, Santa Clara Citadel, Tulare and Turk Street, blue.

Hawaiian & Pacific Islands: Lihue, yellow; Kahului and Kona, blue.

Intermountain: Cheyenne and Colorado Springs, yellow; Ogden, blue.

Northwest: Anacortes, Helena and Port Angeles, yellow; Great Falls, red; Walla Walla, blue.

Sierra Del Mar: Cathedral City, Murrieta and National City Temple, yellow.

Southern California: Pasadena Tab-ernacle, blue; Torrance, yellow.

Southwest: Flagstaff, yellow; Hobbs, blue.
