BY LIEUTENANT PAULA WILD –

The theme of the recent Intermountain Women’s Ministries Conference, “Because You’re Worth It!” allowed us to rethink how precious we are to our Lord and Savior. Captain Sheryl Tollerud had arranged a program, supported by divisional staff, that continued to express that thought.

A devotional by Major Ivy Hood, “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall,” set the tone for the start of the conference. Sessions with such titles as “You are an Image Bearer,” led by special guest Joanne Wallace, reminded us that we can be image bearers who make a difference to those around us

There were workshops to bring out the crafter in us, along with practical teaching on how to balance your life as a woman in today’s world.

There were relaxing times such as the familiar game show, “Wheel of Fortune,” with contestants from various corps. A mid-day fashion show featured clothes from casual to business, in all styles and sizes.

Joanne shared that “in order to deal with the future we have to put the past to rest.” Sometimes the hardest thing is to forgive ourselves. We put our prayer requests on paper for Joanne and her prayer partners to pray for us.

As the conference came to a close, we were given a picture with Jesus’ picture which summed up the whole week with the words, “I never said it would be easy; I just said it would be worth it.”

We are worth it! We are God’s special creation and his precious treasure!
