The Southern California Division’s Young Adult Retreat—themed “In the Zone”—took place this autumn at the Forest Home facilities near Redlands, Calif.

Weekend speakers promoted perseverance and determination to “run the race” as hard and boldly as possible. Major Glen Madsen spoke on “God’s Best Version of You” while Major Linda Madsen emphasized the importance of integrity. Chris and Joanne Golden discussed methods for planning/executing ministry programs and Megan McQuade encouraged leaving comfort zones and reaching out to the world.

Worship included an original song—by Lincoln Hawk—titled “In the Zone.”

The event culminated with a message from Captain Matthew Madsen, divisional youth secretary, establishing that victory can be achieved by staying “in the zone.”
