With more than 75 attending, the El Centro Corps, Calif., welcomed corps member Private Fernando Carrillo home from service in Iraq. His mother, Bertha and sister, Nelly are active in the corps. During the morning service, Bertha gave thanks to God and to Corps Officers Majors Julio and Karen Vasquez for their continuous support during the time that Fernando was stationed in Iraq. Nelly and the youth group, led by Jonathan Vasquez, praised the Lord in songs and testified to the power of prayer and the unwavering protection that God gives to those who seek him. Ferny, as he is called, thanked his mother, sister and the congregation for the event and asked to be in their prayers as he may be deployed back to Iraq in the upcoming months.
