“God is good, all the time!” was the theme for the 2007 music camp recently held at The Salvation Army King’s Lake Camp in Alaska, led by Bandmaster Carl Darby (territorial director for adult Christian education, evangelism, discipleship, and lay leadership), and supported by divisional officers and camp staff. In addition to the traditional brass, timbrel and vocal classes, other electives included guitar, violin, percussion and puppetry.

At the final concert and barbecue, the students shone, showcasing all they had learned over the week. Receiving special recognition were Wynter DeGrote (Anchorage) and Destiny Soppa (Mat-Su)—outstanding senior instrumentalist and vocalist respectively; Kyle Travis (Anchorage) and Trinity Teske (Mat-Su)—outstanding junior musicians; Rebekah Bates (Fairbanks)—Music Camp honor camper, which includes a scholarship to attend next year’s music camp at King’s Lake.
