Dec. 20, 2004—Once again the territory has experienced the responsibility of accepting an unexpected farewell of a territorial commander as Commissioners Bill and Gwen Luttrell re-enter retirement. General John Larsson had activated the couple four months ago and assigned them to leadership roles in the West following the departure of Commissioner Linda Bond.

They return to their retirement home in San Diego.

The Luttrells had been activated to full status in September 2004, instead of assuming a temporary assignment.

They both enjoyed excellent health and enjoyed serving as leaders of their home territory. They had trained here and served here for the major portion of their active careers prior to entering retirement from leadership roles in Canada.

During their four months of service Luttrell had used his extensive prior knowledge of the territory to formulate and carry forward a number of difficult decisions. While saluting and moving on with great respect and affection for international leaders, Luttrell seemed to be somewhat ambivalent about ending their short return to active officership. On one hand there were a number of tasks remaining unfinished, while on the other, settling back into other service areas that retirement allows seems very attractive.

Officers and employees of territorial headquarters wished them well during a Christmas celebration at Crestmont College. Their address in retirement is:
835 “E” Avenue, Ste. E
Coronado, CA 92118-2163.
