Captains Kit and Pat Wetter, commanding officers of the Stockton, Calif., corps, were honored recently with Doctor of Divinity degrees from Golden Gate School of Theology.

During a special dinner given for all the graduates, Dr. Paul Graves, president of the college, recognized the community leadership, passion for souls, and dedication to service the Wetters have demonstrated during their appointment in Stockton.

The graduation events were attended by a large number of the Stockton Corps’ growing congregation. Among them were 15 of the corps’ dedicated teens who came in support of the captains. Some of the girls purchased dresses for the first time—honoring Kit and Pat by dressing up for the occasion.

A standing ovation marked the moment the Wetters were introduced—a mark of respect for their outstanding service to the community through The Salvation Army.
