Bowling league shapes up

The Territorial Youth Department has announced a new bowling league, open to teams throughout the West. The league will start April 20.

“During the past two years the Northwest Division has had much success with their Northwest Bowling League (NWBL),” said Jim Sparks, territorial youth development and leadership director. “Last year they had 14 teams sign up. This year they have been gracious enough to see if we could make it a territorial league.”

Each team will bowl at its local venue of choice and then fax their score sheets to the territorial youth department each week. Corps will not be limited to a number of teams—the more the merrier.

This league will run for eight weeks starting on April 20 and running through June 14, 2005.

While there will be no league fees, players will be responsible to cover their own costs for possible shoe and lane charges. However, these are very reasonable at most bowling centers and should easily remain around $10 per person per week.

The deadline for registration is April 10. For more information, contact Sparks at 562-491-8399 or e-mail him at: Jim_Sparks@usw.salvationarmy.org.
