An aggressive recruitment strategy really paid off at the Apache Junction, Ariz., Corps Community Center. Corps Officers Envoys Dion and Arlene Torres went door-to-door in their community inviting children to attend their week-long Vacation Bible school session.

A total of 48 children enrolled in the program, which focused on introducing them to Jesus. Children participated in a hands-on exercise to learn the story of creation. The young artists converted a multi-purpose room to a beautiful rain forest.

“In this way,” explained Torres, “the children can visualize God’s plan and purpose.”

The week ended with every child accepting Jesus into their hearts. Results were evident during the following Sunday’s service. The crowd, which averages 35 members, had grown to 104!
