The Territorial Youth Department is pleased to announce that 46 corps in the Western Territory have earned the Standard of Achievement award for junior soldiers. Each corps has been presented with a bar to place on their junior soldier plaque.

“The Junior Soldier Standard of Achievement is a recognition program designed to acknowledge junior soldier brigades that are active and goal-oriented in the corps,” said Captain Glenda Berko, territorial Guard and Sunbeam director.

“It is a program that will enable corps officers to better monitor the health and activity of the junior soldier brigades, encourage the use of the junior soldier preparation and training material, and attempt to unify the junior soldier program in the Western Territory.”

There are three separate levels of achievement in the program. Each level is represented by a different color star: Level 1 yellow; Level 2 red; Level 3 blue.

Corps which have an active junior soldier program now will have an active senior program in the years ahead. Our junior soldiers are very important to The Salvation Army today and tomorrow! Congratulations to the corps officers and local leaders who continue to keep junior soldiers “marching along.”
