The City of Reno, Nevada honored veterans Friday morning with a downtown parade. Prior to the parade, Taps was performed and dignitaries placed a wreath in the Truckee River. The Salvation Army Northern Nevada Emergency Canteen served coffee and hot chocolate to warm up the crowd and participants. Captain Michael Johnson, Reno Assistant Corps Officer noted that four of the ROTC youth who marched in the parade are also Reno Salvation Army Corps Soldiers or Junior Soldiers. Several Corps members walked alongside the Canteen as it joined in the parade. Shouts of support for The Salvation Army were heard from the enthusiastic crowd.
