This summer, more than 30,000 teens will gather in Washington D.C. and Los Angeles, Calif., for the Youth Evangelism SuperConference, DC/LA’97, sponsored by Youth For Christ.

Salvationists Richard Brown (Pasadena Tabernacle, Calif.) and Captain Carla LaFayette (DYS, Intermountain Division) have been selected as part of the DC/LA’97 program staff, and are using their skills and expertise to help in the planning and implementation of the conference.

“We often tell teenagers that they should reach their friends for Christ, but we never show them how,” says National Director of DC/LA, Geoff Cragg. “The goal of DC/LA’97 is to show them how, and encourage youth to grow in the area of leadership.”

LaFayette, who directed all the junior high general sessions at DC/LA’94, will serve as writer and co-host of the televised late night variety program which will be broadcasted each evening to the hotel rooms of every delegate.

Brown’s responsibilities include the computer-programming of all six interactive CD-ROM video lessons which will be used for delegate evangelism training.

Guided by the theme, “Live the Life,” the conference will be held in L.A. June 25-29 and in Washington, D.C. July 16-20. Both will feature popular speakers including Josh McDowell, Tony Campolo, and Jim Burns.

Musical guests include Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, and Jars of Clay. For more information call 1-800-735-DCLA or find them on the Internet at https://www.gospelcom.net/yfc/dcla
