El Cajon youth present the Sunday evening worship service.

BY: TERRY MASANGO, CAPTAIN

The Sunday evening worship service at the El Cajon (Calif.) Corps on Oct. 30 shook the house as the youth of the church presented the program for the evening.

Due to the wide variety of youth plans offered by the corps, the kids had several opportunities to exhibit their “best” work on the platform. Every group was represented throughout the night, whether it was a corps cadet sharing a testimony, junior band playing the offertory or the Moon Beams singing “I Just Want to be a Sheep.”

The departments poured much sweat and work into perfecting their presentations and it was obvious the congregation was pleased with each segment. Noted during the evening were Jarod Howard and Noah Falzarano, winners of the National Commanders Ranger Award, and Danel’a Garrett and Danna Moreno receiving  Commissioner Sunbeam Awards.

More than 35 youth volunteers were recognized for their outstanding service with the children of the El Cajon Corps. Special thanks went to Renee Howard, youth director, and Matthew Ball, music coordinator, for making the evening a big hit!
