Eighty-two players tested their skills in early March at the 3rd Annual Crestmont Classic Doubles Tennis Tournament, hosted by The Salvation Army’s College for Officer Training at Crestmont (CFOT). They competed for a $3,000 prize.

Celebrity host Menyone Deveaux—a young actress who loves the Lord—brought energy and humor to the weekend. Currently featured in the film Notorious, her other credits include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Shield, The Awakening, Paper Soldiers and Project Green Light. She just completed her first book, Journey to The Red Carpet.

This yearly event serves as a conduit between The Salvation Army and the community and provides a teaching tool for the cadets. The concepts of sponsorship and partnering with other organizations can be applied to any type of community fundraiser.

Special thanks go to the sponsors and volunteers who gave time and finances to make this an extraordinary event.
