Recently, more than 25 employees from the Riverside County ARC production center wore white ribbons and put them on their cars to show their support for the Army’s Campaign against Pornography. Lt. Grady Brown, ARC administrator, passed more than 100 white ribbons to employees. He reported, “The employees enthusiastically endorsed the campaign. They were happy to do more than work for the Army, but also to work hand in hand on issues like this. We are now working to take this issue to our community, and hope to get their support.”

A Loss to Us All

Officers and employees at territorial headquarters were saddened recently to learn that Fred Ehrl, a well-known employee, had suffered a fatal heart attack.

Fred was born in Mittweida, Saxonia, Germany, and came to this country in 1960. After a successful career in the aerospace industry, he joined his wife, Elisabeth, working at the Conference Center, first as an on-call employee. Then, for five years he served as the genial host at the coffee room, or “Fred’s Place,” where he went out of his way to see that everything moved smoothly. All were greeted cheerfully with concern for our families, weather and news reports, and stock market advice. Newcomers and visitors soon joined his list of friends.

His loss touches all our hearts as we offer our deepest sympathy to Elisabeth, their daughters Nicole and Jamie, and son Fred. Messages of condolence may be sent to Mrs. Elisabeth Ehrl, 29004 Doverridge Drive, Rancho Palos Verdes CA 90275.
