Words of Life explores rhythms of grace

Listen to this article

Grace has been described as knowing that there is nothing we can do to make God love us more and nothing we can do to make God love us less.

The Advent edition of Words of Life (Sept. – Dec. 2002) explores stories of grace from Scripture.

The prodigal son of Luke’s Gospel found unexpected grace in the arms of his waiting father. Jonah, the petulant prophet, met the grace of God in a most unlikely place. Esther, the young Jewish woman and Persian queen, became an agent of God’s grace at a decisive moment in the history of her people.

The Advent readings written by Major Jenny Harms (editor in Southern Africa Territory), the letter to the Ephesians, an on-going study in the Gospel of Mark and a Sunday selection of Psalms will all help us to view grace from many angles. Throughout this journey, attention to God’s rhythms of grace will refresh and nourish us.
