The Army just got bigger! The Wenatchee Corps enrolled 10 new junior soldiers during their recent Rally Day. Capt. Rob Reardon, DYCS for the Northwest Division, conducted the enrollment and told the youth, “You are the newest junior soldiers in all of The Salvation Army.”

Each new junior soldier was partnered with an adult mentor from the corps who pinned them and prayed with them during the enrollment. These mentors have committed to praying, encouraging and being a spiritual guide for their junior soldier during the next year. This is an important part of the spiritual development of the corps because it shows the junior soldier that there is an adult who will care for their spiritual well-being; it also gives an opportunity for the adult to be involved with the youth by placing them “under their wings.”

Three of the junior soldiers came to the Army as a result of the corps’ Sidewalk Sunday School outreach and Vacation Bible School.
