COMMISSIONING 2003

by Claude Nikondeha –

It is that time of the year again…when the territory gears up for the Commissioning Weekend. This year’s events will be held on June 14, 2003 in Pasadena, California at the First Church of the Nazarene, Pasadena.

As part of the territory’s renewed commitment to our ethnic ministries, we will be providing translation in Spanish and other languages as needed for the Commissioning events.

Simultaneously, on Saturday morning June 14 at 9:30, we will have workshops in Spanish by Spanish-speaking officers on “Experiencing and developing worship,” “Youth leadership ideas and issues,” “Building a healthy corps, what do they look like?” “Making sense out of financial chaos,” “The Salvation Army in the life of the Spanish-speaking community.”

This year’s commissioning events will also host a Latino rally on Sunday evening June 15—this will be a great place for our Hispanic soldiers and friends to celebrate with the newly commissioned cadets and hear a dynamic message from our territorial commander, Commissioner Linda Bond.
