At the Tucson South Corps, we have a variety of women’s ministries programs—not limited to the four walls of our corps—that share the common goal of winning women for Christ.

The mission with our various Home League programs is to uphold the league goals of ministering to and encouraging women. Along with a traditional Home League on Tuesday mornings, a Thursday evening league is directed toward working women, with members meeting in each other’s homes. The Women’s Victory Outreach program meets twice a week in a local trailer park. Our Summit Outreach program, which meets once a month, is directed to the ladies who live on the outskirts of the city. Soon we will begin meeting on Friday afternoons with a new group of women from Captain Emma Orellana’s English class.

We are able to minister in many different ways and have seen healing, restoration, and lives transformed. In the past year we met two women who were diagnosed with breast cancer, and we began praying for them. Captain Emma visited and encouraged these women who both eventually recovered. Her interest and concern was important to them and their families. Although they attended a church, they had not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. When invited to accept Jesus, they came forward and asked him into their lives. The ladies now attend Home League meetings where they are warmly welcomed.

The key to the success of this ministry is in knowing that there is no limitation. God can use you anywhere, anytime, with anyone, as long as you are willing.

Captains Hector and Emma Orellana are the corps officers at Tucson South.
