Betty Carson was recently honored by Major Bob Rudd for 40 years of service.

Betty Carson of the Medford Citadel Corps was honored recently for 40 years as a Girl Guard and Sunbeam leader. Majors Bob and Mariam Rudd, Cascade divisional leaders, presented her with the Evangeline Booth Award, a letter from the territorial commander, and an award from divisional headquarters.

Betty has dedicated her time and talents to over 250 girls (and she can list each of their names!). Under her leadership, the Medford troop has won three divisional championships and one territorial championship. Betty taught at SAY camp at Camp Kuratli for 33 of the last 40 years and also attended the Girl Guard Jamboree in South Dakota.

Betty says that her love for the girls and belief in the program keep her going.
