On their second visit to Farmington, New Mex., “Hawthorns Most Wanted,” a team of professional hip hop artists from California, once again rocked the house! Pigeon John and Redcloud were the main acts, presenting rap material with a solid Christian message.

More than 150 teens packed the Civic Center exhibition hall for the concert presented by the Farmington Corps and local radio station KNMI Vertical Radio.

“It is an awesome sight to see teens having fun in the Lord,” said Vickie Harvey, in-charge, Farmington Corps.

Program Director Livi Miller, with help from the outreach committee, organized the concert to coincide with the end of school. Members of the congregation and staff also volunteered at the concessions stand and provided security.

The corps will continue events at local parks throughout the summer, focusing on evangelism and the presentation of quality Christian entertainment. In the fall the corps’ vision action team will continue its outreach to teens with a monthly concert event with the ultimate goal of opening a nightclub and cyber café.
