More than 600 delegates gathered to enjoy a weekend of fellowship, fun and spiritual renewal at the Del Oro Division Family Camp Meetings, held at The Diamond Arrow Camp and Conference Center in the gold mining town of Nevada City. The recently acquired Camp Del Oro was not quite ready for such an influx of people.

With the theme of “All Together Now,” guests Commissioners David and Doreen Edwards, Western territorial leaders, joined Divisional Commanders Lt. Colonels Charles and April Strickland to lead the camp. On Friday night, the worship band “911” from Yuba Sutter Corps together with Brigadier Bob Yardley (R) shared old and new songs with the audience.

Colonel George Church (R), A/Captains Ian and Isobel Robinson, Majors Bill and Judy Nottle with Major Craig Madsen each led TEAM seminars on Saturday morning. Afternoon fun for the family was coordinated by the Grass Valley and Chico Corps. Activities included a softball game, pony rides, a bouncy castle, cotton candy and swimming, of course. Captain Marcia Smith organized “Family Night Live.” Juggling, singing, skits and games for all ages provided a great time of fellowship and laughter around the campfire.

A highlight of Sunday morning’s service was Commissioner David Edwards’ enrollment of eight Junior and nine Senior soldiers, and four adherents. He challenged each to live their lives in full service to our heavenly Father and the Army.
