Anderson, Russell Appointed to National Advisory Board

National Commander Commissioner Robert A. Watson recently announced the appointments of Ralph Anderson and Philip Russell to The Salvation Army National Advisory Board. Both are from the Western Territory.

Russell joined the Honolulu Advisory Board in 1994 and is the immediate past chairman. A principal at Graham, Murata, Russell, a Hawaii-based development, property management and real estate consulting firm, Russell has over 30 years of experience in real estate development and management. He is a member of the American Society of Real Estate Counselors.

Russell is past chairman for the International Council of Shopping Centers/Hawaii Public Relations and Community Service Committee and a past Hawaii State Director of ICSC. He has served as Hawaii State President of Building Owners and Managers Association. He looks forward to drawing from his real estate and business management experience to support the good work of the Army.

Anderson has served as the president of the Sacramento Advisory Board. Under his guidance, the annual community luncheon became a significant fundraiser for the Army. He was also responsible for creating partner relationships with Sutter Hospital and the Sacramento Kings Basketball team.

In addition to a successful career serving local government, he founded Ralph Anderson & Associates, which provides management consulting services in the areas of personnel management, financial management, organization and management, executive recruitment and training to state and local public agencies, as well as to the private sector, throughout the country.

He currently serves as chair of the Long Range Planning and Campaign Committee for the University of California Berkeley Foundation.
