Over 100 guests arrived to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the women’s program at the Anaheim, Calif., ARC. In the crowd were people who had contributed a room to the facility; they were amazed that the building looked like new, even though 505 women have passed through its doors in the past five years. Also present were civic officials, as well as people from agencies who refer women to the program.

Ed Arnold emceed the celebration. Major Ron Strickland, ARC commander, Major Moses Reyes, director of rehabilitation services, and Captain Dina Graciani also participated.

Two graduates of the program were featured speakers. One, who graduated in mid-June, told of her experiences and expressed her appreciation to God and the Army. Another, who appeared in Salvation Army uniform, is now a soldier of the Anaheim Corps and hopes one day to become a Salvation Army officer. She gave God all the credit and honor for the profound change in her life.

The Orange County women’s auxiliary sponsored the event, which was planned under the committee chairmanship of Dawn Marks; it was designed to celebrate recovery in the lives of women touched by the ministry of the center in its brief history.
