Standard of Achievement awards announced for 2012

Each year, The Salvation Army’s Western Territorial Youth Department presents the Standard of Achievement awards, recognizing outstanding corps cadet and junior soldier programs.

Awards are organized into blue, red and yellow levels, depending on the number of students in the brigade, with blue indicating the largest number. Winning corps receive a plaque with an engraved star.

2011-2012 Standard of Achievement awards:

Corps cadet brigades earn points by conducting a corps cadet Sunday, wearing uniforms, attending field trips, submitting lessons and for leaders participating in a training event.

Blue: San Diego Citadel (Sierra del Mar), Albuquerque Temple (Southwest), Torrance (Southern California), Carson City (Del Oro), Salem (Cascade), San Pedro (Southern California), Pendleton (Cascade).

Red: Kauluwela Mission (Hawaiian/Pacific Islands), Anchorage Citadel (Alaska), Bay Communities (Cascade), Mesa Citadel (Southwest), Tucson South (Southwest), Portland Tabernacle (Cascade), Tacoma (Northwest), Casa Grande (Southwest).

Yellow: Chandler (Southwest), Rita (Hawaiian/Pacific Islands), College for Officer Training (Southern California), Roseburg (Cascade), Grants Pass (Cascade), Fairbanks (Alaska), Eugene (Cascade), Hayward (Del Oro).

Junior soldiers earn points by attendance, wearing uniforms, and participating in singing company and in the worship service.

Blue: College for Officer Training (Southern California), Mesa Citadel (Southwest), Pendleton (Cascade), Reno (Del Oro).

Red: Albuquerque Temple (Southwest), Sheridan (Intermountain).

Yellow: Anchorage (Alaska), Ebeye (Hawaiian/Pacific Islands), Eugene (Cascade), Rita (Hawaiian/Pacific Islands), Wrangell (Alaska).
