Rebuilding a place–restoring lives

Roseville Corps now better than ever!

The Salvation Army in Roseville, Calif., led by Captains Chris and Lisa Aird, recently completed restoration of their building—close to 100 years old, it needed interior remodeling so the corps could better meet the needs of the community.

Each weekend—between a Friday lunch and a Saturday breakfast—the corps volunteers served a few hundred meals. In 2009, however, the fire marshal prepared to shut down the kitchen because it did not meet code requirements.

The corps decided upon a remodel that would include removing asbestos from the whole building, upgrading the kitchen to a commercial grade kitchen, replacing dry rotted flooring in the upstairs bathrooms to accommodate the shower ministry that happens on Friday mornings, and new flooring and stage in the chapel.

With the project complete, the corps can now help and feed more people along with welcoming additional worshippers to the Sunday morning service.
