Asking, “Is it finished?” General Paul Rader (Ret.) challenged the capacity congregation on Good Friday to consider Jesus’ final words on the cross. “Jesus work was finished on earth, but are we doing our part to finish what God has called the Army to do in the world?” Rader reminded the assembly of the continued social injustice in the world and asked each individual to consider a ministry that included a vision of a just world. Many were moved and came forward to pray—to dedicate or rededicate themselves to service.

A festive atmosphere prevailed as the Pasadena Tabernacle Band presented its Bon Voyage Festival on Easter Saturday evening. “Proclamation!” is the theme of the band’s tour of the U.S. Southern Territory, scheduled for March 28-April 6. The centerpiece of the band concert is James Curnow’s newest composition, entitled “Proclamation”—it is also the focus of the band’s mission. “We’ve a Story to Tell to the Nations” is one of the songs featured in the composition. General Rader (Ret.) brought the devotional message, challenging the band and all present to remember that the Army really does have a story to tell.

Commissioner Kay Rader brought the message at the Easter sunrise service. Later, the morning worship service featured the singing company in addition to music from the band and songsters. General Rader (Ret.) spoke about the significance of the resurrection in our daily lives. As the service ended, the congregation joined in singing “Amazing Love,” John Wesley’s hymn celebrating the reality of the work of Christ in our lives.
