Cadets of Crestmont College will present an original musical production “Time and Time Again: A Night of Adventure and Suspense in Time!” at the college’s annual benefit Dinner Theater, scheduled for Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1, 2003.

The Friday evening gala includes a tribute to Others Award Honoree Mrs. Dolores (DeDe) Hicks, President and CEO of The Harbor/South Bay/Long Beach Volunteer Center, as well as a VIP reception and a silent auction. Dinner Theater proceeds support both World Services and the Crestmont College School for Officer Training.

One of the highlights of Friday evening will be the opportunity for Dinner Theater guests to enjoy a preview visit to The Salvation Army Museum of the West, housed on the Crestmont campus, both before and following the Dinner Theater.

The museum curator and members of the museum committee will conduct special tours of the museum’s two galleries. The Heritage Room, with a domestic setting including a fireplace, features memorabilia from Salvation Army pioneers of the Western Territory. The main gallery houses exhibits on officers of the West, parades of the past, and music of the West, with a full-feature, interactive kiosk.

The Salvation Army through the eyes of children will also be showcased in the main gallery, says Museum Curator Kimberly Mack. “This will be an attractive exhibit, with an Army toy collection, camp photos and memorabilia, and a display on Lytton, an early twentieth century Salvation Army children’s home,” Mack said.

Dinner Theater visitors to the museum will also have a special opportunity to purchase charter membership, and become part of the founding club for The Salvation Army Museum of the West.
