Conrad Watson receives award

Conrad Watson, Executive Director of the Los Angeles Harbor Light Center, is the recipient of the Western Territory’s 2003 Award for Excellence in Social Service.

Watson, a successful Harbor Light graduate and member of its “Miracle Club” is responsible for a program caring for 330 residents in three facilities, staffed by 100 employees and volunteers. Under his leadership, the Harbor Light has moved forward programmatically, financially and spiritually. He has organized an effective and cohesive treatment and counseling team, managing a full continuum of substance abuse and dual diagnosis services.

“First and foremost, I would like to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life; and that by his grace, I was given another opportunity to have a more abundant life,” said Watson.

“I would like to thank The Salvation Army and the Los Angeles Harbor Light Center Program for recovery and rehabilitation…and most importantly, for giving me the opportunity to develop a successful career wherein I have been able to exercise the 12th Step of Recovery: Giving back [to suffering men and women] that which was so freely given to me [by TSA and my Mentors]. I am proud and honored to accept this prestigous recognition.”
