Commissioners Bill and Gwen Luttrell

Long Beach, CA – August 27, 2004—Commissioner Linda Bond, territorial commander, has submitted her resignation from Army officership for personal reasons. The General has accepted her resignation with regret and acknowledged her outstanding contributions during her officership.

Larsson immediately reactivated and appointed Commissioners Bill and Gwen Luttrell, long-time Western officers and recently retired leaders of the Canada and Bermuda Territory, as territorial commander and territorial president of Women’s Ministries for the USA Western Territory.

During her two years of dedicated and consecrated leadership in the West, Bond challenged officers and soldiers to fulfill God’s mission for the Army of today and the future. She identified six strategic mission priorities as the means by which the territory could move toward positive change and inspired all who knew her to greater commitment to God and the Army.

“We had the pleasure of working closely with Linda in Canada while she served as chief secretary, and Gwen and I held territorial leadership responsibilities,” Luttrell stated. “We gained much respect and admiration for her at that time, and we maintain that same level of respect today. During her 36 years of officership she has contributed in very important ways to the Army’s continuing ability to deal with contemporary issues and problems that face us, and we wish her well in this next phase of her life,” Luttrell said.

With obvious admiration for Bond’s contributions to the West, Luttrell made it clear that he will move forward with that same enthusiasm she has engendered. “We have our priorities before us,” Luttrell added. “Now, with God’s help and blessing, we will continue to achieve the goals which have been set. These accomplishments will honor God and fulfill the mission for which he has raised up our Army. ”
