Bank of Hawaii’s Charity Walk benefits Army

In Honolulu, Hawaii, more than 1,000 Bank of Hawaii employees and their families stepped out for the bank’s annual Charity Walk on June 20, 2009—raising $105,000 to be divided among The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division, the Hawaii Red Cross and Family Promise of Hawaii. In response to the current economy, this year’s walk focused on three local organizations that provide food, shelter and basic necessities to individuals and families in Hawaii.

Following the 1.8-mile walk, Bank of Hawaii Chairman and CEO Al Landon and Charitable Foundation President Donna Tanoue presented checks to Salvation Army Divisional Commander Major Edward Hill, Hawaii Red Cross CEO Coralie Matayoshi, and Family Promise Executive Director Kent Anderson. The funds will be divided equally among the organizations ($35,000 each).

Participants enjoyed breakfast served by the bank’s executives along with board members from The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division, American Red Cross and Family Promise of Hawaii.
