The Torrance Corps’ Academy of the Son summer day camp offered mathematics, Spanish, English, Bible, and music classes as well as fun activities and field trips. The music class was special because the children not only learned music theory, but they also had the musical EXPERIENCE. The kids clearly enjoyed this class! We had recorders for them to use in class, but by the middle of the summer, all the children had purchased their own so they could practice at home. They enjoyed showing off their recorders—each one was different. This music class allowed the kids to express themselves and enjoy the magic of playing music.
