SEPT. 2, 8 P.M. – MIDNIGHT
Western Salvationists have been asked to take part in an international 24-7/SA prayer emphasis that encompasses the entire Army world, as Salvationists join in prayer for the High Council’s decision in electing the Army’s next General.
The Americas and Caribbean Zone has been designated to pray from 6 p.m. September 2 through 6 p.m. September 3, with territories praying in 2-hour time periods. The USA Western Territory has been designated to pray September 2 from 8 p.m. until midnight.
“Selection of our international leader is a sacred and awesome responsibility for our territorial leaders,” said Territorial Prayer Coordinator Lt. Colonel Mervyn Morelock. “While election of the Pope gets more press coverage, it is to us the most holy of spiritual ceremonies that will affect the ministry and mission of The Salvation Army for the whole world.”
According to Lt. Colonel Lyndall Bywater, 24-7/SA Prayer Network Coordinator for the United Kingdom Territory, the address for the UK’s 24-7/SA web page and “virtual prayer room” is: www.missionteam.co.uk/24-7s
