More than 165 Women’s Auxiliary members and guests filled the Great Falls Corps fellowship hall for their annual spring meeting, led by President Mary Collins. The tickets for the luncheon included a 30 minute exclusive pre-opening shopping spree in the grand Antiques & Collectibles Shop, which has gained the attention of serious collectors, dealers, and a predictable crowd of people from near and far.

During the luncheon, Women’s Auxiliary members modeled selections of vintage clothing. A silent auction of very select premium items was also offered. Divisional Director of Women’s Organizations Lt. Colonel Janice Buchanan was the visiting leader and speaker for this event.

As the luncheon was in full swing, another 100 people who also purchased pre-opening shopping tickets formed a long line around the corps facility anticipating their chance to seize the choicest items.

The two-day benefit fund raiser was a great success, with nearly $18,000 realized. The Great Falls Auxiliary supports the Army’s work in providing scholarships for summer youth activities and camps. They also provide complete outfits of new clothing to approximately 900 children at Christmas. In addition, many of their projects address equipment and facility needs.

This Auxiliary has a current membership of 85 and will soon be breaking the 100 mark. They are a committed and energetic group, maintaining hands-on service year-round as well as providing a full committee structure of organizational and advisory skills.
