It seems that there is a new story each week about the tensions between “black lives” and “blue lives” in communities across America.

There are longstanding rifts, historical complications, and pieces of the puzzle that are tough to place.

How to solve those issues is a big problem, but that doesn’t discount the little steps toward reconciliation.

That’s why a Salvation Army camp outside of St. Louis, Mo., brings together youth from some of the region’s most segregated communities with local law enforcement officials to forge new relationships.

Here, young people and officials fish for rainbow trout, challenge themselves on the high ropes course and sharpen their mental focus while practicing archery.
