Melbourne Staff Band Slates Visit

The famous Melbourne Staff Band will be coming to Orange County, Calif., this spring. After tours in the Eastern and Southern Territories they will make a brief stop in the Sierra Del Mar Division before arriving at Tustin Ranch Corps, announce Corps Officers Captains Lee and Michele Lescano.

Since its formation in 1890, the Melbourne Staff Band has been at the forefront of Salvation Army music-making in every state of Australia and at many overseas venues, including the forecourt of Buckingham Palace and the Main Street of Disneyland. The band has represented Australia at a number of international Salvation Army events and has distinguished itself in extensive concert tours in New Zealand, North America, Europe and the United Kingdom.

According to Bandmaster Ken Waterworth, “The Melbourne Staff Band must continue to strive to be relevant in every aspect of its ministry and effectively communicate the Gospel. That’s what we are all about.”

Their schedule for Orange County includes a public musical festival on April 20 at 7:00 p.m. (ticketed event) and will offer their unique ministry at the worship and praise services at 10:30 and 4:00. All Orange County events will be held at the Tustin Ranch Corps, 10200 Pioneer Road, Tustin. Call (714) 832-7100 for tickets and additional information. The weekend events will also feature the Tustin Ranch Band (B/M Ed Freeman) Tustin Ranch Songster Brigade (S/L Bruce Freeman) and Timbrel Brigade (T/L Jennifer Stickland).
