General John Larsson and Commissioner Freda Larsson will visit the West in June.

Our international leaders, General John Larsson and Commissioner Freda Larsson, are preparing for their tour of the USA Western Territory. Soldiers and officers of the territory should be in preparation too, making plans to attend one of the public meetings, praying for the ministry that the General will bring, and being part of the wave of celebration that will cover the territory.

Portland

The General and Commissioner Larsson will be joined by our national leaders, Commissioners W. Todd and Carol Bassett, and territorial leaders, Commissioner Linda Bond and Lt. Colonels Donald C. and Debora Bell in Portland on Saturday, June 12. The tour of the territory will start with the General’s party watching the annual Portland Rose Festival Parade, where bandsmen from around the division, joined by the Seattle Temple Band, will witness to thousands as they march through the streets of Portland.

Meanwhile, at the beautiful campus of George Fox University on the outskirts of Portland, Salvationists and friends will join together for the beginning of the weekend celebrations called “Faith Factor.” Family fun, along with innovative workshops, will be presented to help equip soldiers with the skills and knowledge needed to stand firm with strong faith when factors of the world attack. Soldiers of the Cascade, Northwest, Alaska and other divisions are invited to register for these workshops.

The General will speak at public meetings at George Fox University on Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13, along with officers’ councils meetings on Sunday.

San Francisco

Monday, June 14, the Generals Party will arrive in San Francisco, and Monday evening will be a celebration of ministry and challenge for the soldiers of the Golden State and Del Oro Divisions. The Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church will be transformed into an Army building, as the Concord band, and massed songsters present music in support of the Generals message.

Tuesday, June 15, provides the opportunity for officers of the divisions to share in councils with the General.

Phoenix

The next stop is Phoenix, with the public meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 16 at the unique Orpheum theatre in the heart of Phoenix. This truly wonderful theatre building will become an intimate place of worship, a temple of praise as the Southwest Division responds to the ministry of the General. Again, the General will share in officers’ councils with officers of the division on Thursday morning, before departing for Los Angeles.

Los Angeles and San Diego

The General will speak at the commissioning events, as well as an officer’s councils on Friday evening, June 18. The General will also give words of encouragement and challenge to men and women of local recovery programs as he shares breakfast with them.

The Sunday morning holiness meeting held at the Kroc Center will be a wonderful united divisional worship experience for the Sierra Del Mar Division, prior to Larsson preaching at the Latino Rally, held at LA Central Corps Sunday evening.

Monday morning our international leaders will spend some time with our territorial and divisional leaders, as this concludes the visit to the territory.

After ten days, thousands of miles traveled, nine public meetings, four officers’ councils, what will be the impact of the time spent in the territory? This will be determined by our response, and our willingness to be part of the journey. Plan to attend a public meeting, plan to bring your friends, experience the Army community, and be prepared to be challenged in your witness and commitment.
