Construction company owner Johan Huibers is building a pine ark, identical in size to Noah’s. He modeled it after the book of Genesis: 300 cubits (450 feet) long, 30 cubits (three stories) high, and 50 cubits (75 feet) wide, according to The New York Times.

When complete, including live animals, he plans to use it to teach the Bible.

“A lot of things in the boat lead you to think. We make people curious,” Huibers told the Times.

Read more about how Huibers has complied with fire safety standards, dealing with neighbors, employment possibilities, and a smaller ark that he made in the 90s in the Times’ article.
