Larsson to speak at Cascade’s Faith Factor

by Tarah Nimz –

The international leader of The Salvation Army, General John Larsson, and his wife, Commissioner Freda Larsson, will make their first visit to Oregon in June, as honored guests for the Faith Factor conference.

Hosted by the Cascade Division, Faith Factor will be held June 12-13 at George Fox University, just outside of Portland. It will be a weekend of fun, faith and fellowship featuring a variety of workshops for adults, teens and youth on subjects ranging from Christian ethics and leadership to Jesus and hip hop. It is open to everyone.

On Saturday June 12, the General will make his only address to the general public. He will speak on “Strength-ening Faith” at 7 p.m. in the Bauman Auditorium at George Fox University. The Salvation Army Seattle Temple band and the Northwest Chorus will also perform.

“Over the course of his officership, General Larsson has distinguished himself as a man of faith. Having held a variety of Salvation Army posts around the world, he is well-equipped both to inspire and to challenge Christians to greater faith and greater efforts for the kingdom of God,” said Major Kenneth G. Hodder, Cascade divisional commander.

The Larssons preside over The Salvation Army’s operations in 109 countries worldwide. General Larsson has written several books and full-length musicals.
