Cold weather outreach begins in Argentina

Listen to this article

A Salvation Army canteen in Buenos Aires, Argentina extended its social services and emergency outreach to help people in need during the cold weather season with food, hot beverages, blankets, coats and shoes.

The canteen drives by plazas and bridges throughout the city all day looking for people on the streets who need help keeping warm.

In one instance, a man named Fabian was walking through the streets on San Miguel looking for recyclables and spent all night in the rain, when the canteen spotted him. They gave him coffee and a sandwich in hopes of making the cold weather and rain a little less difficult for him.
