SoCal to Convene Pre-Congress Meetings

In anticipation of a weekend of blessings, a pre-Congress Prayer and Praise meeting will take place on Thursday, June 5, 1997, at the Long Beach Temple Corps.

“We would like to invite everyone who will be in and around Long Beach to join us,” says Lt. Colonel Alfred R. Van Cleef, Southern California divisional commander. “What a glorious way to begin the weekend–in praise and in prayer!”

On that evening, the Southern California Divisional Youth Band and the Long Beach Praise Musicians will be playing and singing their praises to the Lord. Prayers will be offered for the various Congress events and participants, and according to Major James Hood, commanding officer of the host corps, “opportunities will be given to share praise and victory reports from around the Western Territory.”

Lt. Colonel Herbert Wiseman (R), Congress prayer coordinator, will bring his “greetings” and share a devotional thought.
