Stenvicks
Oliver and Geretta Stenvick, with their two sons, Robert and Larry, entered the Training College in San Francisco from the Phoenix Citadel Corps. Commissioned in 1957 with the Faithful Session, they were appointed to The Dalles, Ore. Later, during five years in Eugene, Ore., their son Timothy joined the family.

Four interesting years followed at the Northwest Divisional Headquarters as they served as divisional youth leaders.

In 1969 they were transferred to what is now the Cascade Division as divisional secretary and League of Mercy secretary. Five productive years followed at Sacramento Citadel Corps, where there was expansion of much-needed social services.

In 1977 the Stenvicks arrived in Los Angeles, serving briefly as divisional director of development and director of volunteer service, then divisional secretary and League of Mercy secretary. After a brief appointment in Boise, Ida., their ministry took a different turn and they entered the Men’s Social Service Department. Their nine years in San Jose witnessed a period of growth in property, finances and program. Since June 1993, they have been administrators of the Anaheim ARC in Orange County, Calif.

Major Geretta Stenvick’s ministry has been characterized by her concern for people and her skills in directing programs for all ages, as well as in administration.

In retirement the Stenvicks will live at 105 Pembury Way, Folsom CA 95630.

Lloyds
Majors Robert and Irene Lloyd have entered honorable retirement after 31 years of Salvation Army service.

Major Robert Lloyd is a third generation officer, with his parents commissioned as officers in the 1926-37 Enthusiasts Session. Lloyd remembers at the age of five walking out with his parents onto the stage of the Ware Memorial Building in San Francisco and saluting the Commissioner.

Twenty-two years later, as members of the 1958-59 Pioneers Session, Lloyd walked out on the same stage with his son, saluted another Commissioner, and was appointed with his wife, Irene, to the command of Ft. Collins, Colo.

A graduate of Seattle Pacific University, he spent three years in the US Army, 18 months of that time in Korea, where he rose to become a mess sergeant.

Major Irene (Waldie) Lloyd grew up in the Colorado Springs Corps, where Robert met her while on leave from the US Army. They were married upon his return from Korea and a year later entered training college.

During their years of officership, they have served in Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Texas, California, and Colorado. They retired as corps officers in Portland Hillsboro, Ore.

God blessed them with four children, Jolene, Laurie, Robert S. and James, who are all Salvation Army officers. They have seven grandchildren.
