Army leaders worldwide featured at biannual women’s clergy conference

Corps Assistant/Women’s Ministries Assistant and Senior Soldier Karen West, and Women’s Shelter Resident Manager, Tamesha Scott, put a new pair of shoes on the baby of one of the mothers in the Women Helping Women Group.

The seventh International Wesleyan/Holiness Women Clergy conference will be held this April 20–23, 2006 at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego, California.

Workshops will explore the theme: Come to the Water—A Mosaic of Holy Love.

Salvationists scheduled to lead workshops include Colonel Eleanor Shepherd and Captain Danielle Strickland from Canada/Bermuda Territory and Major Ronda Gilger from USA Western Territory. Colonel Margaret Hay of IHQ is one of the main speakers.

Major Janet Munn and Carol Jaudes, from the USA Eastern Territory will participate in the opening session.

Presented by Wesleyan/Holiness Women Clergy International (WHWCI), the purpose of the conference is to equip and encourage divinely called women in vocational ministry and professional leadership positions.

The Salvation Army usually provides the second largest delegation to the conference and is often an encouragement to other denominations regarding the ministry of women. The Army has supported this conference since its inception 14 years ago.

WHWCI is an interdenominational group and is sponsored by Brethren in Christ, Church of God (Anderson), Church of the Nazarene, Evangelical Friends, Intl., Free Methodists, The Salvation Army, the Korean Evangelical Holiness Church in America, and the Wesleyan Church.
