Territorial Headquarters is pleased to announce that registration for the 2002 Youth Congress and Commissioning events is now open!!

June 14 ­ 16, 2002, Long Beach, California will be filled with excitement ….

…as young people (ages 14+) from all corners of the territory meet together at Youthquake to reaffirm their faith to “stand firm in a shaking world,” challenged and inspired by speakers and artists including General John Gowans, Salvador, Fred Lynch, Walt Mueller, Super-chic[k] and CPR.

…as the chaperones to the youth delegates, officers and other adults are inspired in the adult track by great Bible teaching presented by Captains Lee and Michele Lescano (Tustin Ranch) and Captains Mark and Sharon Tillsley (USA Eastern Territory ­ training principal).

…as we celebrate the diversity and God-given talents of the young people from all over the territory in the Saturday night Youth Spectacular.

…as we witness and share in the Commissioning, ordination and appointment of the Cross-bearers, our newest Salvation Army captains!

…as General John Gowans presents his challenge to all of our officers in their service to the Lord and humanity during the Territorial Officers’ Councils.

You can obtain a registration form from your corps officer or download a copy of it from www.salvationarmy.usawest.org EVERYONE who wants to attend ANY part of this weekend must complete a registration form and return it to your corps officer for processing.

Additional information…

The registration fee for the Youthquake and adult tracks is $100 after February 15, 2002, and only $90 before then. So make sure you complete your form early!

If you want to only attend the Saturday evening Youth Spectacular the fee is $10.

Commissioning events are by reservation only (no fee); registration is necessary.

You will also want to use the registration form to secure childcare (Kid’s quake!) for the weekend.

The deadline for registering for any part of the Youthquake weekend is MAY 1.

Hotel booking information is on the registration form; book early (before May 1) to secure the special Salvation Army rates.

This is going to be an exciting, uplifting and God honoring weekend, plan now to be part of it, and encourage the young people of your corps to experience the Youthquake!
